I guess that could prove a loop would not involve Network. A bit of a surprise was that the Network bookmark appeared first. I indicated they weren't the ones that you showed us. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. (This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. Go to Settings -Look for Reset Settings -Click Restore settings to their default values. In fact, Registry events were last but as Reset the Edge -Open Edge and click the 3 dots at the upper right side of your screen. Started with only Process and Thread events, bookmarked the last of those, added Network events, bookmarked the last of those, added File events, bookmarked the last of those and finally added Registry events. Then I filtered for both Edge and its tab task and If anything I would say I had more overhead getting Task Manager going (with Ctrl+Shift+Esc). ![]() ![]() All I tried to capture was what you described: typing a single letter into the Searchīox, waiting for nothing but ProcMon to be showing using CPU and then stopping the trace. What about the normal case for comparison? FWIW I did not see the registry queries that you captured, so I guess they may only happen when Edge is starting. Looks like it's doing a lot of registry operations a couple of minutes, then about nothing is logged from that process.
